No matter how many times you have been on a first date, it never stops being nerve-wracking and exciting. If you really want to impress your new date, there are a few things you can get right to start off on the right foot.
Keep it casual. Try to pick a casual restaurant to go on your first date. After the first five minutes, you can become a little uncomfortable. Women, keep the make-up light and men, no suit and tie.
Always be polite to the staff at the restaurant. The way you treat others will indicate what kind of person you are.
When you are dating, sometimes, you do indeed have to play the game. It’s all a part of the dating scene. If you are interested, be sure to look at your date in the eye. Keep the conversation casual. Don’t get too deep. Don’t talk politics or religion.
Be sure to not have your cell phone out, otherwise, you will be constantly checking it. If you have an important call that you can’t miss, let your date know ahead of time. There is nothing worse than someone who is constantly texting when you are trying to have a conversation.
If you happen to be a few minutes late for your date, be sure to call and let your date know and apologize for the situation. When you are going out with someone, you should always consider your date’s feelings.
A few drinks can help you to relax, but any more and you can end up acting like a fool or making a bad decision. Make sure you both are having fun. If your date is not smiling or laughing at all, things may not be going the way you want them to.
If you find yourself interested, it wouldn’t help to “accidentally” brush your hand against your date’s hand to see if there is a spark.
You can have fun with all the new experiences. Make each first date an adventure. Be yourself as much as possible. It can be awfully nerve racking, but try to be real as you can.
