A successful first date usually comes down to one thing…confidence. When we are confident, we are also comfortable with ourselves and the more confident we are, the less we need to worry about all those little things that tend to make us nervous about first dates.
Here are a few things to boost our confidence in ourselves and make that first date just a little less painful.
Add to your normal hygiene routine by adding some sweet perfumes in your bath. Experience a good long soak early enough on the evening of your date to give the fragrance time to soak into your skin. Your body will carry the aroma throughout the date.
Rather than stressing about your wardrobe, select an outfit you will feel relaxed in. Choose one that enables you to truly feel good about yourself. You may still be worried a bit about how you look but at least you will appear more natural and at ease.
Sometime, dating can cause us to try to be something we are not just to attract someone. Be yourself. If the person you’re with doesn’t appreciate you or your originality, then it’s just not worth it to go out again. We all want to be liked and sometimes do conform a bit when we are with someone new. You want someone who will like you for who you are, not who you pretend to be.
Talk before the date. If you have certain expectations about your upcoming date, you need to make sure the person you’re going to be with knows what those expectations are. For example, if you feel uncomfortable around crowds and prefer to dine in a more private setting, your date needs to know this before making reservations. Dating can be quite an adventure once you get past the first date.
